The Brief

Leading property owners and asset managers AsheMorgan sought to refresh the public areas of their commercial tower at 140 Creek Street, Brisbane. The upgrades encompassed the bathroom and lift lobby areas across two levels. The brief was for a design that would stand the test of time — practical, hard-wearing, and finished with warm, enduring fittings and fixtures. Existing utility locations were retained, with the focus on a meaningful design uplift.

The Outcome

The refreshed public areas at 140 Creek Street deliver exactly what AsheMorgan required — a timeless, quality upgrade that adds genuine value to the building while standing up to the demands of high daily traffic. Completed on time within the live building environment.

The Design

Workers and visitors to these levels now arrive at a contemporary space with clean lines and warm-toned fixtures, with feature bounce lighting highlighting a classic neutral colour palette. In the bathrooms, large porcelain tiles with a limestone look create interest and colour variation, complemented by a warm-toned bush-hammered limestone wall tile that adds texture and a natural finish. A clay-coloured subway tile was introduced as a feature element. The benchtops are a non-silica Smartstone Carrara marble — a classic natural stone aesthetic that is also extremely durable and non-porous.

Construction

Construction was carried out over eight weeks within the live environment of a CBD office tower, requiring careful coordination and noise management to minimise disruption to building occupants. Works included the full bathroom refurbishment — retaining services in place — and fresh fitouts for the lift lobbies on both levels.
